As far back as I can remember I have loved the art of storytelling. Whether it was with crayons, photographs, a computer, or just plain old words, I’ve always been on a mission to create great stories. It took me some time, but I found my preferred medium for telling stories: graphic design.
There’s something exhilarating about the way images and type come together to tell stories. As I’ve gained experience and knowledge within the broad realm of graphic design and marketing, I have discovered my primary passion – branding. Helping individuals and businesses discover their core story – their identity – and then designing various ways to communicate that story to the world gets me going every day!
I have been working professionally in graphic design and marketing in one way, shape, or form for the past seven years. I have designed for a multitude of businesses and people. These projects have included brand identities, websites, marketing campaigns, product packaging, book covers, trade show graphics, and much more.
Currently I design for a variety of clients at a digital marketing and data analytics agency, named Cardinal Path. I’m also a creative director and partner of a remarkable brand agency called re:sound creative.
To get a full sense of my experience and skills I recommend taking a gander at my portfolio and checking out my resumé. I’m always open to helping others tell their story. If you have an opportunity (short or long term) that you think I'm the right guy for, drop me a line. You can use the nifty form on my contact page and I promise I'll get right back to you.
As well as a storyteller, I’ve been a serious thinker most of my life. I consume books like a rabid bookworm and have always loved learning and writing. My blog, jerrythepunkrat.com, gives me an outlet to further refine my ideas and make sense of the things I read and see all around me, every day. If you want to see my brain at work be sure to check it out. (And yes, the name jerrythepunkrat is a bit odd but there is a story behind it. Just ask me sometime!)
Ever since I discovered Facebook and Twitter I’ve been a bit obsessed with social media. Be sure to hit me up on your preferred network of choice.
Photography has been a great love of mine since first picking up an old Pentax K1000 when I was 14. In fact, photography later became my bridge to design. These days graphic design is my primary passion but I still pick up a camera (or iPhone) and get some shots off whenever I can.
